Originally, we at ExpatTech only serviced and sold laptops and notebooks, but as more and more service customers asked about the availability of a "loaner" laptop while theirs was being service, we realized that there was a need and a market for laptop rentals in Budapest. So as of June 2007, we have assembled laptops for hire here in in Budapest, Hungary. As far as we know, we are the first company to offer a laptop rental service in all of Hungary and we are happy to fill yet another niche technology service for our customers. Whether you are having your computer serviced by us or someone else, ExpatTech knows what it is to go days or even weeks without your system and without internet. Hungary is notoriously slow with laptop repairs that involve ordering parts. All parts must be ordered and delivered from abroad, but at least you can make the wait a little more bearable with a laptop rental from ExpatTech.

Unfortunately, organized crime and petty theft in Eastern Europe is alive and well. Therefore, we must require the following of anyone wanting to rent or lease a laptop or notebook:

In the case of minor physical damage to the laptop, the approximate amount of the damage will be quickly assessed by our hardware team and deducted from your deposit. In the event of more serious or disputable damage, a thorough inspection will occur and we will work to come to an amicable agreement at which point your deposit will either be appropriately forfeited or returned. For customer related damages exceeding the amount of the deposit, a credit card charge can be made. Some issues may not be resolved before customer departure dates. In these instances, we are happy to resolve any issues via the internet as well as to accept any necessary payments via Paypal, credit card, or bank transfer. Likewise, any customer refunds can be made in the same manner.

In the case of a lost or stolen laptop, the customer must pay the original purchase price of the machine which will be clearly detailed upon rental. Payments can be made with cash, credit card, bank transfer, or via PayPal.
